Honeywell replacement HM700ACYL2 disposable Steam Canister. This Steam Canister includes an O-ring on the drain nipple and inside the cylinder is a 1 gram tablet of Sodium chloride (CMC 176). This ensures the cylinder will work on all water types once installed. A plastic cover on the cylinder outlet is installed for transportation to ensure the tablet remains inside the cylinder.

Heat is generated by electrical current flowing between submerged electrodes to generate steam. The HM750 is designed for on-demand air humidification via a steam distributor nozzle. Once the humidistat terminals and air proving terminals are closed (AP on the control board), the humidifier then closes the power relay and measures the electrical current. If the electrical current is lower than full load amperage, after a quick delay the water fill valve will be opened and water will flow to the fill cup. Water from the fill cup flows to the bottom of the cylinder through a hose connected to the drain valve housing. As the water in the cylinder comes in contact with the charged electrodes, charged current flows through the water. The resistance of the water to the electrical current generates heat which in turn evaporates water turning into steam. The electrical current (and steam output) increases as the water level increases, as more of the electrodes become submerged. The unit continues to fill until the current reaches full load amperage, or the high water sensor detects a high water level.

This is a disposable steam tank which must be replaced at least once per year. It may need replaced more often if you have very hard water and or extremely long run times. NOTE: It is normal to hear a rattle in a new cylinder because it is shipped with a salt tablet to boost conductivity.
