Honeywell F300 Series Air Cleaner Parts Repair Help
1. Turn off power to air cleaner and furnace.
2. Remove collector cells, prefilters and post filters (if you have those). Carbon after filters or post filters are NOT cleanable so do not wash them in water. Post filters should be vacuumed and carbon after filters need REPLACED every 90 days.
3. Soak prefilters and collector cells for 30 minutes in a laundry tub filled with warm water mixed with electric dishwasher detergent.
4. Thoroughly rinse the collector cells and prefilters with clean water.
5. Let the collector cells and prefilters drip dry for 30 minutes before reinstalling them.
6. Turn the air cleaner back on.
7. Turn the furnace back on.
NOTE: the air cleaner will not function properly until it is completely dry. This will take 24 to 48 hours. During that time it may snap, crackle and pop. It will not damage anything or cause a fire while that is happening.
To test if your Honeywell electronic air cleaner is working properly when you are done. Get the furnace blower running then slap the return (cold in winter) ductwork with the palm of your hand several times. This will loosen up some dirt in the ductwork. That dirt will enter the air cleaner, and the air cleaner will temporarily begin making snapping noises. This is an indication it is working.
1. First, remove BOTH collector cells from your Honeywell air cleaner.
2. Put the door back on and turn on your air cleaner again.
3. Get the furnace blower running. You can do this by turning either the thermostat fan AUTO - ON switch to ON or turning the heat on and raising your thermostat set point.
IF THE INDICATOR LAMP DOES NOT COME ON
The problem is with the High Voltage Power Pack.
IF THE INDICATOR LAMP COMES ON
The problem is with one OR both of your collector cells. If this is the case wash both of your collector cells, wait 48 hours and try it again with both collector cells. If it works now you are done.
IF THE LAMP GOES OUT WITH THE CELLS INSTALLED
1. Place a single cell all the way to the rear of the air cleaner and retest.
2. Now remove that cell and try it with JUST the other cell placed all the way to the rear of the air cleaner.
3. If the indicator lamp GOES OUT with one of the cells installed then that cell has a short in it.
4. Remove that faulty cell and carefully study it. Look for bent aluminum plates, broken ionizer wires or foreign objects stuck between any of the plates. Remove the foreign object, straighten the bent plate or replace the broken ionizer wire.
5. Retest that cell. If you see nothing wrong with it try shaking the cell. Sometimes a single plate will break loose from the cell. If you have a broken plate or find nothing wrong and it still shows a shorted cell, you need to replace that collector cell.
Hi, I'm Jay, and this is the Honeywell electronic air cleaner.
Today we're going to talk about how to remove and replace your pre-filter. The first thing you want to do is kill the power to your furnace and air filters. Now that the power is turned off, let's remove the door, and get to the pre filters. The pre-filter located in this slot here, farthest away from the furnace.
The next section contains the collector cells. There is a third slot here, that is reserved for post filters, which most units do not have. Then of course we have the furnace. The air travels through the system this way, down the return air duct, through the pre-filters, through the collector cells, through the post filters, if you have them. Then into the furnace, where the air is heated or cooled and blown back into your home.
To replace the pre filters, simply remove one collector cell, set it on the side, remove the first pre filter, reach in, and take the other pre filter out, set it on the side. Now you're going to take your new pre filters, and get them ready for installation. You'll notice that there are no arrows on the pre filter on the front or back so it doesn't matter what direction you put it in, I like to install it with the little spring clips on the top, because it's easier to put that in. So there's the first pre-filter. And the second pre filter.
Now, you'll notice that these are installed where the old ones were. It happens to be the point farthest away from the furnace. The air travels down the return air duct, goes through the pre filters, then it will go through the collector cells which are located in the center, this third slot here is for post filters, if you have them, this particular model does not, the air would then travel into the furnace to get cooled or heated, and blown back into your home.
Now, we're going to put the cell back in, OK now the collector cells are reinstalled, you'll notice down here there is an arrow cut into the collector cell, that arrow says "Air flow" next to it. And that is pointing the direction of air flow, as I stated earlier, this way, through the pre-filter, through the collector cell, post filters if you have them, and into the furnace. Now we'll put the door back on. And turn the power back on.

Hi, I'm Jay, and today we're going to talk about how to replace the collector cells in your Honeywell electronic air cleaner.
The first thing you want to do is turn the power off to your furnace and air cleaner. Now that the power is turned off, we're going to remove the door. The collector cell is the big heavy thing located in the middle of your air cleaner. OK, simply remove the first collector cell, now we're going to reach in and take out the second one. Now we're going to take our new cells, and get them into position to install.
You'll notice that on one edge of the cell, there is a contact board. That contact board must be placed closest to the power box. So in this particular application this is going to be up. Because this needs to make contact with the power box. You'll also notice that down here, is a little arrow cut into the edge. That arrow is the direction of air flow, it must be pointing towards the furnace. That's the direction that this air flow is flowing, towards the furnace.
Located inside the cabinet, there is a little plastic button called a cell key. It is there to prevent you from installing the cell upside down, or backward. And in this case right now, the arrow is facing this way. The cell key should prevent you from installing it incorrectly. However, if you really press hard on it, you can still get it in backwards, or upside down. So it's very important that you have the contact board facing towards the power box. Which in this case, is up. And the arrow pointing right here towards the furnace. The cell should slide in easily. If it's very hard to put in, you probably have it upside down or backwards. So it slides back in, and we're going to take the second cell, install it, install the door, Now it's ready to be powered up.

Hi, I'm Jay, and today we're going to talk about how to replace the post filters in your Honeywell electronic air cleaner.
The first thing you want to do is turn off the power to your furnace and the air cleaner. Now that the power is turned off, let's remove the doors and look at the post filters. The post filters are located on the final slot of the one closest to the furnace. Now we're going to remove the post filters. First thing we'll want to do is remove the first collector cell, just set that on the side. Now, remove the first post filter, reach in, and remove the second post filter, now we're going to take the new post filters, and put them in. Here's the post filter, you'll notice that there's no arrows on this.
There's no front back, top or bottom. So, you can't get it wrong. Just slide it into the correct track. Just slide it in here, and we're going to put the second one in. Now, I'm going to point out that the post filters are in the track that is closest to the furnace, so there is three tracks here. First one is for the pre-filters, the next track here is for the collector cells, the third one is for the post filters, so the air travels through the pre-filters first, then through the collector cells, then through the post filters, then into the furnace where the air is either heated or cooled, then blown back into your home.
Now we're going to put the cell back in, keeping the arrow on the cell pointed again, on the direction of the air flow towards the furnace, now I'll put the door back on, and we're ready to turn the air cleaner and the furnace back on.

Hi, I'm Jay. This, is the Honeywell electronic air cleaner.
In order to purchase the correct parts for your unit, it's important to first determine the model number of your air cleaner. It's easy to do, the first thing you want to do is turn off the power to your air cleaner and furnace. Now that the power is turned off, simply remove the door. On the backside of the panel, up in this corner it says, Type No. That is the model number of your unit. This particular model number happens to be F50 F 1032. So that's the model number we're looking for.

Hi, I'm Jay, and this is the Honeywell pop up air filter.
It can be installed in any Honeywell furnace mount air cleaner. Either electronic, or media style. The first thing you need to do, is turn the power off to the furnace and air cleaner. Now, we'll remove the door. First thing you need to do is remove both cells, and the second collector cells. Now we'll remove the pre-filters. This particular model has post filters in it, so we'll remove them. Now we're going to save all those components just in case we want to convert those units back, into an electronic air cleaner.
To remove the cell key, simply take a Phillips screwdriver, insert it into the socket. Back out the screw, and now, you have a cell key removed. It is not ready to install the Honeywell pop up filter. OK, let's take the pop up filter out of the box. It is an accordion pleated filter, and it will self assemble. So we drag it out of the box, lift up, and it springs into position. All done.
Now let's install the pop up filter inside of the air cleaner. This particular air cleaner is an electronic air cleaner, so it has an electronic power head on top of it. Now, you'll want to put it in with the arrow here is facing towards the furnace, that's pointing the direction of the air flow, which is this way towards the furnace. So we're going to slide this in. You'll want to be careful, because there is some cardboard here that may hit the opening. There it is, now it's installed. And, now all we have to do is put the door on.
Now, this filter needs to be replaced twice a year, if you have heating and air conditioning, only once a year, if you only have heating or only have cooling. Now if you just have heating or cooling, but you have a bunch of cats running around the house, or hairy dogs, you may want to replace this more often, so you may want to go to twice a year for that. Now we'll put the door back on, you'll want to leave the power switch on this particular air cleaner, in the off position, but you can turn the power off to the furnace.
